Overview – Our Lady’s Manor Nursing Home

Our Lady’s Manor Nursing Home can accommodate 61 residents, providing long-term, short-term, convalescent and palliative care. With beautifully maintained gardens and multiple day rooms, our residents can enjoy an open and unrestricted environment.

The nursing home is conveniently located a short distance from the main street of Edgeworthstown, next to the main Dublin to Sligo road.

Steeped in history, Our Lady’s Manor was the historic home of the Sisters of Mercy and many members of the famous Edgeworth family. The nursing home first opened its doors to the public as a care centre in 1952, then run by the Sisters of Mercy. The building, which was originally a convent, has been converted and modified over the years to improve the facilities. It was officially handed over to the Newbrook Nursing Group in 2009 and in 2010 we undertook a major refurbishment programme to meet the needs of our residents.

The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and residents are encouraged to choose their own colour scheme and bring personal items to make the room their own. There are day rooms with activities such as music therapy, baking, arts and crafts. Throughout the nursing home you will find lovely pieces of antique furniture and chandeliers. The building is internally connected to Our Lady’s Manor Church providing easy access for residents.

We do our best to provide a home from home for all our residents. We believe in a person-centred approach with a high standard of care. We encourage residents to be actively involved in their own care planning and activities programme and we respect the residents’ rights to self-determination, individuality, privacy and dignity.
