A Family-Owned Enterprise

A home from home

Overview
The Newbrook Story

Newbrook Nursing Home Group is a family-owned enterprise, one of the few remaining in the nursing home sector. Established in Mullingar in 1999, Newbrook now has six nursing homes across five different counties.

For us, it is all about the resident.

That is why our founders, Sarah Ann and John Noel McGivney, built the first nursing home over 20 years ago, and it remains our focus today. Our aim is to provide a home from home for all our residents with a person-centred approach and high standard of care. We never forget why we are doing what we do, and we will continue to provide resident-focused care for the next 20 years and more.

All of our nursing homes have been carefully chosen.

Every nursing home added to the Newbrook Group has been carefully chosen. In Edgeworthstown, Our Lady’s Manor was chosen because of deep personal connections to the McGivney family, Cuan Chaitriona in Mayo because of its outstanding reputation and Portiuncula Nursing Home for its location in the pretty Midlands village of Multyfarnham. Newbrook’s extended family now includes nursing homes in Monaghan and Galway. In each of our nursing homes, we are rooted in the local community and part of the social fabric.

About
Sarah Ann & John Noel

Newbrook Nursing Home Group was founded by Sarah Ann McGivney and her husband John Noel. Sarah Ann was a registered intellectual disability nurse with An Bord Altranais and held both a Diploma and a Masters of Science Degree in Gerontological Nursing. Together they saw the need for a facility for the elderly in Mullingar and built and opened Newbrook Nursing Home in 1999. Today, the group has nursing homes across Ireland and is still owned and run by the McGivney family.
